A July Challenge and Sweat Pink Run Program

Today’s Workout: lower body strengthening

Its not the end of the month yet, so I’m not going to review my June goals and set ones yet for next month. But I do already have a goal in mind. This one will be on my July list: the 30 Day Abs Challenge from @RunToTheFinish. Yup, I will be participating in a 30 day challenge for the first time (I don’t count my failed RW Run Streak because that was limited by injury).

I am really excited about this because my core is the most pathetic area of my body in terms of strength. I also think my weak core contributed to my injuries so hopefully this one will help me! It comes at a good time too because I’ll be starting running and training again in July for my fall schedule.

The challenge is based on the Strong Like Susan 30 Day Challenge, including “30 videos which provide you with daily exercise or clean eating tips on the rest days.” Then hopefully at the end of 30 days, I won’t need to try this..

As you may know, I’m a Sweat Pink Ambassador and am part of a great community of people from FitApproach. As FitApproach expands, more and more new ideas have been suggested. One of them includes a fun program for runners called the Sweat Pink Race Program! What’s exciting is that you DON’T have to be an ambassador to join!

The run program is a way to encourage others to participate and sweat pink in events, share the FitApproach message, and meet other people like you at local events! The program can be used for virtual races or in actual races, but in general, Sweat Pink teams will meet up at local events to represent FitApproach! Let me tell you, there are some awesome women involved in this organization so it would be great to get to know them.

I am hoping to meet up with other runners at local NYC events, so if you sign up and live in the area… let me know! It would be great to get a large group together in our Sweat Pink gear :)

What do you get if you join?

  • A Sweat Pink wicking tee (designs are being picked now, they are CUTE)
  • A drink pink wineglass, for toasting after races
  • Team Pink buttons
  •  A team fundraising page (charity to be determined, but there is no minimum or maximum amount you have to raise!)
  • Pink shoelaces :)

The wicking shirt will look different than this, but all their gear is super cute!

The cost to join is $30 for Sweat Pink Ambassadors and $35 for everyone else. Registration will be open until Friday, July 6 so gear can be shipped before race season, and you can sign up here. If you want join, you can get 10% off with the code: SPAMeganL

Last random thing about my day today, I discovered that Regular Cherry Twizzlers are amazing! SO much better than strawberry. I fell out of love with licorice for a while but this helped me fall back in love. Looks like licorice and Kombucha are my two new food obsessions!

Have you ever done any 30 day challenges?
What’s one random thing about your day?
I’m on the lookout for a new granola/energy bar.. I eat Clif bars and Think Thin bars mainly, but would love to try some new ones. Any ideas?

  1. I am so excited for the Sweat Pink Race Program!! The shirts are amazing :)

  2. The 30-day challege sounds interesting. I just started focusing on my core because mine is so weak and also I started to get a little pouch:( It can’t stay so ab work is going to be popular with me:P

the sweat pink swag is pretty fun:)

  3. Good luck on your 30-day challenge! I eat Mint Choc Brownie PowerBars, Mint Choc Chip Clif Bar, and Luna protein bars (cookie dough or mint chip)…those are my favorite but I also eat Kashi GoLean bars (the choc pretzel and coffee cake ones are my favorite).

  4. You’ve got to make your own bars – I’ll try to find the recipe that I used that uses beans as a base (high protein low fat – promise it doesn’t taste weird!)!

I just signed up for the 30 day ab challenge – it will be my first 30 day challenge – but why not!

  5. The sweat pink program sounds interesting. I’ll have to check it out and the 30 day challenge as well. While I haven’t done a 30 day challenge, I have tried the 100pushup challenge and made it to week 4 or 5, so while not 30 days in a row, it was really hard but I improved a lot and I didn’t even finish!

  6. that challenge sounds awesome! may have to try it! :) i am signing up for the sweat pink race program soon! yay :) and i LOVE cherry twizzlers! there the best! i love lara bars! they’re pretty dense on nutrition, organic, and only have like 5 ingredients! they’re awesome. i also love luna bars.

  7. I signed up for the Ab challenge, too! I’m so bad at ab work!!

Have you tried the new Über Lara bars? I was pretty impressed with them! Very different than the original Lara bars!

  8. I did a pushup challenge and loved it. My arms looked great. I could use an ab challenge and will have to check this one out!

As for bars, Im a big fan of KIND bars and Pure bars. They are both clean and filling. Or you can always make your own!

  9. Those pink laces are too cute! I’ve never done a 30 day challenge but I’ve used the 100 push up and situp apps and have loved them. I LOVE Larabars and Kind bars.

  10. I’m signed up for the ab challenge too! I’ve done a few 30 day challenges before so I’m excited to do another one. Hopefully I can keep it up!

  11. I do 30 day challenges all the time and switch it up every month! I’ve been working on my abs a lot lately – but I’ve done Pilates pretty consistently and love it. Low impact and you feel results.

  12. I love that AB Hancer!! hahaha
