Hey everyone! So I wanted to recap my June goals and set goals for July.. so here it goes.
JUNE GOALS:
1. No eating after 8:30pm and limit snacking.
I was much better with this in June than I was in May! I can’t say I was perfect but I tried really hard to accomplish this one. Some days when I came home late from work, I had to eat around 9. But for the most part this was relatively successful!
2. Continue and complete the RW Summer Run Streak.
I had to bow out of the run streak because I had some complications with my foot. But this goal helped me realized that I’m just not cut out to run every single day, my body can’t handle it! I don’t feel bad about not doing this because its best for my achy old lady joints!
3. Read at least one new book.
This didn’t happen at all, whoops! I underestimated how much work I would have when I started fieldwork. I was too busy readying books for fieldwork and writing notes for patients. I did read, just not a book for fun.
4. Buy a bike and start biking places.
Accomplished this and then some! I bought my bike in early June and have went biking with Karl a few weekends, its been SO much fun. We want to take a biking trip soon somewhere where there is more open space/no traffic lights and just enjoy the ride. I am LOVING my new set of wheels.
5. Lose 5 pounds to get to my goal weight (I gained a few in May).
This didn’t happen, but I did lose two pounds! I’m going to keep this goal for next month and continue to work on it. Its hard to workout as much though now that I’m not home all the time so this may take more time than I had thought!
Now onto next month..
*************
JULY GOALS:
1. Start training for the Reach the Beach Relay in October.
-Any ideas for training plans?

2. Complete the July Ab Challenge from @RunToTheFinish.
3. Try at least 3 new foods.
4. Go on a bike trip to somewhere beautiful and take lots of photos.
5. Go to the beach and swimming!
And just to end off this post, here’s some fitspiration!
Tell me some of your goals for July?
Did you meet all of your June goals?

Ooh I like your goals!! The RW Run Streak was also a goal of mine but it didn’t happen due to a foot injury
I am working on eating cleaner and getting back on the fitness train this month.
Those look like some great goals! Enjoy all that Reach the Beach training! I have a 2012 goal to read more books, so you’ll have to let me know what you like! Ps Love the NYC bike pic!
I don’t really make goals, which I probably should but I figure I would fail every one of them. Yay for getting a bike! I’m contemplating getting one, but I don’t know if I wanna make the commitment to buying one and learning all the workings of it.
Good job on your goals:) Losing weight in the summer is hard I find with all the good summery foods around.
My goal is to (seriously) drink more water. This is like the most difficult thing for me to do for some reason.
Thats a tough one, but I found that getting a kick ass water bottle helped me haha. Sounds so simple but I love my Camelback!
i also need to get back on eating clean. i lost a couple pounds i gained too (YAY) and getting longer bike rides in has been a goal which so far is happening!
Awesome!! Congrats girl
I need to get in some long bike rides too, this weekend its a must!
Great goals! I like those. We eat dinner at 6 and I never eat after that. I guess it helps bc I go to bed pretty early though so I never thought of snacking at that time of day. Good luck!
I should probably go to bed earlier, less temptation!
If you need book suggestions – I’m your goal – just tell me your style!
I am the worst late night snacker ever created. If it makes you feel any better – I thought the RW streak was a little unrealistic as I fear injuring myself
I like fiction books, I was really into Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Dragon Tattoo things like that. Throw your suggestions this way!
I recently read The Innocent and LOVED it (not my normal kind of book). A great one was also Defending Jacob. Get on it!
Great goals! You should come to Rochester to go biking with us
A little far, I know!
As far as training for the relay, I would probably say follow a half marathon type training plan but add in some doubles here and there. We aren’t going to be using a relay specific training plan since we have the marathon a little over a week before the relay.
I would LOVE to bike with you guys, we should maybe plan something in the fall when its cooler and I won’t complain about being hot haha.
Sounds like a good plan, definitely throwing in some doubles will help. Thats going to be the tricky part about the relay!
Great goals! For June I made it through the RWRunStreak, kept running after my training group, and increase my mileage/pace. I’m happy to say I did it all! I didn’t increase my mileage as much as I wanted, but it was a little hard due to the streak. For July, I’d like to work on increasing my mileage/speed, do more cross training, and read more! While I haven’t trained for a relay, from watching my husband and his friends train I highly recommend doing multiple runs in a day multiply times in your training. My husband is the only one who did it on his ultra team and he did the best!
I love how you are always making the effort to stay motivated! I recently took to going to the high school track near my home in the mornings, now that school is out and the pesky teenagers aren’t around, hehe.
I do two miles each time, quick workout before work. So far I have 8:45 and 9:10 as times but I’m hoping to break 8 eventually. And this may be a crazy proposition by the way, but I’m visiting NY soon and was wondering if you’d like go meet for a run or walk around the city. You must know some nice places. It would be nice to fit in some exercise on this family trip and meet a fellow blogger! Email me at nimmie55@gmail.com if you’re interested
Those are awesome times, you go girl!! The track is a nice place for speed work! Thats such a great idea!! I’ll email you
