This weekend Karl and I planned on taking a bike trip, but then my dad was discharged from the hospital and we wanted to spend some time with him this weekend. So the bike trip never happened, but that’s okay! It was great to see my dad.. he’s doing great thankfully.
Instead I got in a 2 mile run this weekend and went to a Chisel class at Crunch gym again. Its such an amazing class… by the way, does anyone else belong to Crunch gym and want to come with me?!! I’d love a partner
My running motivation hasn’t been so hot lately so I also wanted to make sure I got in a run. I ran 2 miles (slowly increasing mileage after time off for my injury). I have to start training for the RTB Relay soon and am trying to get my mojo going these days. I’ll post more on this tomorrow. But for today, does anyone have any half marathon training plans that they recommend? I’m on the hunt for one!
No bike trip this weekend, but Karl and I had an adventure in the furniture store at Macy’s! While some of you may be thinking, “Um, Megan how can that possibly be a fun activity? Furniture shopping makes me want to poke my eyes out”, I actually love furniture shopping and envisioning what my future normal-sized house will look like as opposed to my tiny apartment.
There’s so many nice sectional couches that I someday hope to be able to fit into my space. In the meantime, we are on the hunt for a new couch and coffee table.
Now I need your help and opinion!! I’m torn between the rustic style and the more sleek apartment type style. I like both! We may not buy these two coffee tables, but they are similar to what we have in mind in terms of style. Which of the to do you like better? I know its a personal thing but I want to take a head
After furniture shopping (we didn’t end up buying anything yet, still shopping around!), on our way back to BK from Staten Island Karl and I saw this for sale at the ferry…
That’s just all wrong. No burger should be 99 cents. Never. Ever. It can’t even be real meat at that price. Who would even buy that?!! I was horrified in case you can’t tell and had to walk away immediately.
It was such a nice day on the ferry Sunday that I took the tourist picture for the first time ever. And I have to say its a nice one! The iPhone camera is pretty awesome.
So a while back I won a free year of Wholly Guacamole on Fit Bottomed Girls Blog. Amazing, right?! So they sent me coupons for free items but unfortunately there’s no store near me in Brooklyn that sells this brand! So I picked some up this weekend in Staten Island and finally got to try it.. its pretty good! Not the same as a real fresh avocado but it satisfies my craving. I especially like the “spicier” flavor, its not really spicy but its closer to being spicy that the original.
In addition to the massive amounts of guacamole I ate this weekend, Chef Karl also made some amazing chicken and rice! Complete with homemade “white” sauce. I’m going to have him share his recipe with me, but he’s keeping his sauce recipe a secret. Maybe we can sell it someday for big bucks.. haha I wish. But its so good it should be bought by someone. Anyway, the meal was amazing. I wish I could have shared it with you all!
Tell me some things you did this weekend! Anyone race?
Share some of your good eats this weekend.
