A month or so ago I was on twitter and randomly started tweeting back and forth with a company called Bani Bands. As we got to chatting, they offered to send me two stylish headbands to try out and review so of course I said yes! This crazy hair of mine needs something to keep it from attacking other gym-goers so I figured I’d give it a shot.
My entire life I’ve had problems wearing headbands because they either gave me headaches, made me look funny, or most importantly would just pop off of my head in the middle of working out. Well, this all changed the day I found Bani Bands (yes, it was love at first wear) because they do none of the above things I mentioned. Seriously, these are what I had been looking for my whole life!
About the company: The idea for Bani Bands was originally started by Renee Krieg-Hanson, formerly in Army Intelligence. Like me, she always had a hard time finding headbands that fit! After serving six years in the army, she enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and during that time she began experimenting with headbands and how to make them stay, but also be adjustable. Obviously she succeeded!
Bani Bands are made in the USA and also in China by a network of home sewers in the Band of Sisters Program. The program is a group of individuals from various backgrounds who sew the headbands the company sells, but around their personal schedule. How cool is that?! REAL women from all over make these headbands! You can also see who sewed your headband, which I think is amazing. I love technology.
I especially love this company for its support of Veterans and because the founder is a Veteran herself. My brother is currently serving in the military so this means a great deal to me personally.
About the products:
*Fully adjustable to fit any size head via adjustable bra strap in the back of the headband. I swear this makes all the difference in the headband not slipping!
*Soft Grip velvet fabric backing. Keeps your hair from breaking!
*Comes in a variety of widths and styles (including sequins!)
*Retail: $12-$18 but there are many on sale for $8
*Custom headbands can be made by request
Not only are their styles adorable and super fun (I want to get them all, I have so many bookmarked!), but they have also transformed me into a thick headband wearer. I used to hate these in the past but Bani Band’s are SO comfortable and I never even realize I’m wearing them. And they actually look really cute on me (I think anyway, nobody tell me otherwise) and I love the style they sent me.
Where to wear these:
EVERYWHERE! I’ve worn them on errands, running, lifting, spinning and during fitness classes. Once they are on, you don’t have to adjust them. Seriously, I mean it! This is coming from someone who has tried hundreds of headbands. These work and they are so cute you can seriously wear them anywhere.
The Verdict:
Love love love. These are a must-buy. I have never reviewed headbands formally before because I never found one I liked as much as these. These are the real deal, and they have helped me get some great runs in (which we all know has been hard for me…)

Disclosure: Bani Bands sent me two headbands to test and review. As always, all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Yes, I do think they look cute on you too! I’d love to try this brand with adjustable straps! So neat! I’d wear it for yoga, on a run, while walking my dog… great giveaway!
I really have a hard time finding headbands. All those kinds that people swear don’t move? Yeah, they don’t stay put.
That was my experience too until I tried these! I even have a few other brands with the velvet inside but for some reason they didn’t work for me.
I’ve not found a headband that doesn’t move. I would love to try this one.
I’d love to win a headband because I have trouble keeping any hair item in my hair and this seems like it might work! The adjustable part is what sounds so great. Then I could share it with my daughter.
I need one of these! Looks great AND doesn’t slip? Amazing!!!! I hope I win
These are too cute!
I think it’d be great for my hair when I’m running! Plus theyre totally cute!
I’m a short-haired girl but I’m starting the tedious journey to growing it out. These headbands are cute and will help to motivate me to get to a length where I can use them
I think the adjustable strap makes this potentially the perfect headband. I have so much trouble with headbands- the ones with the velvet backing are the best so far, but I still have some trouble with them- so I think the adjustable factor may make the difference!
I’ve always wanted a head band that will stay put – I NEVER have found one!
I want to win one of these because every other band I have tried always slips off my head.
I would love to win one of these and give it a try!! I have thick hair and right now it’s too short for a full ponytail & a headband that you don’t have to worry about once in place is awesome!!
I’m with Ashely W, I’ve never worn a band that hasn’t slipped off my head or given me a headache!
A girl can never have too many headbands! Especially when you have curly (aka – unruly) hair.

I love headbands my hair is short so it is nice to use to keep it all back! these are so adorable!
I recently cut 6 inches off my hair, and I’ve been struggling to keep it up while running ever since. I definitely think these would be a good (and cute) solution!
I love these things! Just entered to win one! Have a great weekend!!
I love running in headbands, and would love to try these!
These look super cute! I would love to try one!
I would love to win one to try to see if it actually will stay put on my huge melon head while holding my crazy curls back!!
I’m always looking for a great headband to help tame the Jew-fro. Out of curiosity, have you tried Sparkly Soul? I sometimes feel a little over-blingy in them, but they stay put pretty well.
I do have a few pairs of them too and they also stay pretty well but for some reason the Bani Bands work better for me! I’m always a fan of sparkle though
My hair is short, so headbands don’t just keep fly-aways out of my face while I run, they have to hold back ALL my hair. Plus I have a small head, so by mile 5 of a run, I’m usually desperately pawing at my head trying to get the headband to stay on. These sound awesome!
So cute!! I have wild curly hair so headbands are a must. Thanks for sharing!!
i would love to win the headband. I pitch for a girls softball team and play infield for a coed team, and dont always want to wear a hat. I have never found a headband that does not give me headaches or that can actually stay on my head. I am ready to try something new with this hair.
I’ve got to say the adjustable bra strap feature has me intrigued. My head is ginormous; I have to buy Men’s XL hats, no joke. So if this won’t cut off my circulation – I’ll wear it to pieces.
I wear headbands so much that I have noticed it is starting to damage and break off my hair
. The thick band looks like it will give my hair a break!
i love headbands! and it being adjustable sounds amazing!
These look adorable AND useful. The best combination!
I want to win one because I have yet to find a good headband for when I run…and they’re super cute
I love headbands, and I’d love to try these. I saw them at an expo but did’t try,,,
I love that these bands are adjustable! I feel like I have a funny shaped head or something because nothing fits me right! I’m going to check out their website now!
Very cute headbands! And thank you to your brother for serving!!
I need a headband that doesn’t slip. Gotta try these!
I would love an adjustable, non-slip headband!
I would love to try a Bani Band because I have tried some other sport headbands, but I haven’t found one yet that stays put all the time and is comfortable
Those look adorable! i have heard nothing but great things about the Bani Bands!
Just found your blog. I love it! I would love to find a good head band. I hate when head bands are too tight and make my head sore, but I hate when they fall off too. These look very cute!
I would love one of these! I have a hard time finding one that would fit my head. This would be perfect because they are adjustable!!

I have bangs. Need I say more?
My fiance would love to have one of these.
I would love to give Baniband headbands a try. Always looking for great headbands
Love that it’s adjustable! I want to try that.
I would love to give the headband a try! Sounds like they will actually say on your head!
I’d love to give this a try…. I’m starting to think I just have an odd shaped head because nothing works and I end up just putting my hair up in a Pebbles Flintstone style ponytail on top of my head. #gymspaz
I would like to try these headbands bc I’ve never found ones that stay on my head.
Would love to give these a try!
I would like to keep my hair out of my face with style
Love headbands!! You know how excited I get about headbands that don’t move during a run

I would absolutely love to try Bani Bands! I’m still a newbie runner….but the sweaty wisps of hair plastered all over the face and perpetually in the eyes is frustrating — I need to figure out a way to keep the hair under control!
Adjustable headband? I’m sold! My head is either to big (lol cause I’m a smarty pants of course!) or too small. I’d probably pay double for the perfect headband!!
I have a little head, love to try these
I commented on Bani Bands Facebook page and told them you sent me!!!
